JMC Body

The cornerstone of Yamaha Music Education System, Junior Music Course (JMC) lays a solid foundation for your child's musical growth. With emphasis in interactive activities incorporating singing, rhythm steps, hearing, music appreciation and games, children learn music with our experienced teachers in a fun-filled atmostphere without the traditional repetitive drilling. Parent's participation in most classroom activities offers a great opportunity to bond with your child both during class time and at home.

Students successfully completed the JMC will receive Fundamental Skills Survey to evaluate their accomplishments. Continued with Junior Extension Course (JXC) and advanced further to Junior Advacned Course (JAC) or Junior Ensemble Course (JNC) with focuses on piano techniques, improvisation, and group playing, students will learn all comprehensive knowledge in music while creativities are encouraged to integrate with students' music study.

Age
To enroll in JMC, children should reach their 4th birthday to attend the first regular class. This requirement helps ensure that children are enrolled in a course for which they are developmentally ready. However, exception may be granted to slightly younger children if deemed appropriate at our school's discretion.
Class
Length
±2 years (4 semesters) with class concerts at the end of each semester. Fundamental Skills Survey (FSS) will evaluate the achievement of all students completing JMC and prepare them to advance to JXC, JNC or JSAC determined by their goals and interests. An official Certificate of Achievement will be presented to all JMC graduates.
Parent's
Role
One parent or guardian is required to accompany each student during classes. Yamaha Music Foundation's research as well as countless public studies validates parent's active participation in a child's activities not only helps the student achieve more but also bolsters the indispensable parent-child bonding that children cherish.
