Carlton Liu was born in Hong Kong and came to the U.S. at a young age. After completing his Master of Fine Arts degree in piano performance from the University of California, Mr. Carlton has worked as a music specialist for Yamaha Corporation of America with his expertise in Electone and composition. In 1994, he represented America in the International Electone Concour in Tokyo, Japan, and was awarded 2nd place for his performance of Stravinsky's Petrushka and Ravel's La Valse at the Yamaha ELX Electone.

Recently Mr. Carlton has been working with many international artists including Patti Austin from the U.S., Tsai Chin from Taiwan, and Frances Yip and Elisa Chan from Hong Kong. Active in commercial music compositions, he has written, performed and produced soundtracks for many Hong Kong movies including Nancy Sit Ka-Yin’s recent works. Mr. Carlton's performances cover a broad range of styles from classical to pop and jazz. He believes that a good musician must experience all types of music to fully enrich one's musical knowledge.

A zealous educator in music, Mr. Carlton has cultivated many talented students in his teaching studio Yamaha Music Academy in Fullerton, California. He is respected for his tenure of over 30 years working with the Yamaha Junior Original Concert being the mentor of many award-winning young composers.

Overseeing the impletmentation of Certificate of Merit (CM) program offered by Yamaha Music Academy, Mr. Carlton leads our faculty to assist him to prepare all eligible students for the annual state examainations organized by Music Teachers' Association of California. He works concurrently with the co-teacher in weekly lessons to facilitate a effective learning environment for these students.

With a Music Degree from California State University Fullerton, Mr. Mark Newberry has become enriched with musical expertise. He studied piano, voice, saxophone, and guitar and played in the top wind ensemble under the direction of Dr. Mitchell Fennell. Mark currently is the music director at St. Linus, St. Brunos and The Nativity Church. Appeared in many different groups as a saxophonist, vocalist and pianist, Mr. Mark is also featured as an orchestral classical saxophonist with the La Mirada Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to his busy performance schedule, Mr. Mark is a very experienced and well-rounded music instructor. Whether it is teaching one-on-one private instruction or in group settings, his musical knowledge goes beyond three instruments. Mr. Mark understands that knowing each student's needs is very important for his/her development in order to become an accomplished musician. Although studying music is very hard work, students will discover their hidden musical abilities when the teacher can properly guide them with positive motivation.

Miss Shen earned her Master’s in piano and flute in Music Performance and a Master’s in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory. She teaches music to students ranging from Pre-K to adult learners in various settings. With the emphasis of music theory, history, and instrument performance, Miss Shen is also a certified evaluator of the Certificate of Merit program. Her know-how is succinct and has also directed many afterschool choir giving her students clear goals for the collaborations. In addition to serving as the Vice chair at her MTAC branch, Miss Shen is an active member of her church that she volunteers to helping many students in their musical projects giving them the training and steps to pre-build their life long musical endeavors.

A trained classical and jazz pianist, Dr. Hoang began piano studies at age seven and debuted as a soloist at thirteen. A recipient of numerous honors earned him scholarships to study in France at the Jean-Philippe Rameau Conservatory and the Versailles Conservatory, and later in the U.S. at California State University Fullerton earning a Master’s in Music and completed his Doctorate in Musical Arts at Claremont University.

A devoted educator, Dr. Hoang is a university instructor in Santa Ana College and a lecturer at CSUF. He enjoys his distinguished teaching career and brings the music he teaches to life, inspiring his students to achieve excellence and preparing them through experiences, by encouraging his students participating in competitions, theme festivals and in various students recitals.

An accomplished music educator with over 25 years of experience Miss Julie holds a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from University of Southern California, receiving prestigious scholarships in the highest accolade from Sung-Shin University and recipient of the Irene Robertson Endowed Scholarship at USC for her outstanding work in organ studies.

A certified Yamaha teacher and member of Music Teacher Association of California (MTAC) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Ms. Julie offers a diverse range of instructions, including individual, group piano, theory, chamber music, and more. Her dedication in teaching music shines through each day in her classroom. Known for her kindness, Ms. Julie is adorn by her students at all levels. Her commitment to nurturing young musicians is a staple in her love of teaching.

Mr. Jeff is a veteran Fountain Valley school district educator certified by the State of California Commission of Teacher Credentialing with extensive knowledge in Music and multiple subjects. His decades long teaching career with K-12 students focuses on flexible personalized learning built on a comprehensive all-in-one curriculum. Mr. Jeff is also a dedicated instructor for charter school learners helping homeschoolers study music at their own pace. A lifetime devotee to music and education, Mr. Jeff is a versatile musicians who specializes in drums, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, recorder, piano, guitar as well as electric bass.

Miss Jelena has been teaching for over 25 years as a private and public music educator. Having received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Belgrade University School of Music in Belgrade, Miss Jelena also completed coursework for the Master's of Music Education program at California State University Long Beach. She is a member of numerous community and professional organizations including Teachers Association of Long Beach, California Teachers Association, Music Teachers Association of California, and Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

As a music specialist in the Long Beach United School District, Miss Jelena is an experienced teacher with the Yamaha Music Education System as well as the Montessori program at the Montessori Harbor-Mesa Schools in Costa Mesa. Her passion and devotion to music education makes Miss Jelena a successful instructor who is respected and beloved by children of all ages in both private and group lessons.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Miss Magdalena began her musical career from a young age competing and awarded in numerous Yamaha^® Piano and Electone^® competitions. A scholarship recipient, she studied piano performance at the Music Department of Biola University and was conferred a Bachelor degree from Cal State University Long Beach along with ABRSM certification. Miss Magdalena also studied Piano Pedagogy with Dr. Monica Lee and advanced music with Dr. Jeremy Siskind in Fullerton College.

With her creativity and passion in music education, Miss Magdalena continuously support local community schools and churches activities. She plays keyboard with her church’s worship team and teaches Children Sunday school. She enjoys all kinds of music: classical, gospel, jazz, pop, ethnic and traditional. She believes studying music is a journey but not a destination. Anyone can learn music at any time of age at one's own pace.

A veteran music educator with over thirty years of experience in the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Music Department, Miss Bobbi holds a Master of Fine Arts in Organ Performance with a Choral/History emphasis from California State University, Los Angeles, and completed her doctoral studies with a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Iowa. In addition to her extensive teaching career, Ms. Bobbi has served as a music director at her church, sharing her passion for music with her community. Her dedication to education, performance, and service continues to inspire all her students from ages 3 to adults and peers alike.

Ms. Schwartz, originally from Budapest, Hungary, is a professional concert artist, ardent educator and devoted musician with extensive training and performance experience. She holds two masters music performance degrees from Cal State Northridge University and Franz List Academy of Music in Budapest. Additionally, she earned a Conservatory High School Teaching Diploma, along with piano, composition and languages including English, German, Russian, Italian, and French.

In 1989, Ms. Schwartz was awarded a three-year Viola Fellowship to the Aspen Music Festival, where she studied with Atar Arad and John Graham. She also received the Sterling Scholarship to the University of Cincinnati, chaired by Dorothy Delay. Between 2008 and 2010, she studied violin at CSUN, winning the 2009 Concerto Competition and the CSUN Music Department Arts Council Music Scholarship Endowment Award.

As a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, Ms. Schwartz has performed in 25 countries, focusing on early music, contemporary works, and Hungarian compositions. She has held orchestra positions across Europe, Israel, and the U.S., and freelanced with numerous Los Angeles orchestras, including serving as Concertmaster for several ensembles.

Trained for over 30 years of teaching private and group lessons in Yamaha classroom, Ms. Audrey is fluent in teaching classical, popular, and jazz methods to students of all ages. Skilled in adaptive teaching methods and pedagogical strategies, Ms. Audrey ensures her students are engaged and relevant while committing to progress. She holds an Associate of Arts degree in Music Education from Yayasan Pendidikan Musik Jakarta and international teaching certificates from Yamaha Foundation. Miss Audrey is a passionate music teacher, she enjoys working with her students in various piano literature, and keyboard collaborative arts.

Her teaching philosophy centers on inspiring creativity to help her students to pursue their musical dreams regardless of their levels.

A skilled piano teacher, Miss Tami is passionate about nurturing musical growth in her students. With over twenty years of teaching experience, Miss Tami works with students of all ages and levels helping them develop confidence and artistry. She holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Piano from California State University Fullerton where she studied under renowned Prof. Eduardo Delgado.

As a member of Music Teachers Association of California, Ms. Tami worked toward the Certificate of Merit program with her students and guided them through their musical achievements. Beyond teaching, Miss Tami serves as a piano accompanist at Saint Columban Catholic Church. Her goal in teaching is to create meaningful musical moments during lessons, by welcoming each of her students to explore their potential and their love for music.

Classically trained in piano and cello, Miss Joyce brings over 20 years of teaching experience to our students. A graduate of UC Berkeley and two Masters Degrees from Columbia University, Master of Arts in Music, and Master of Education in Music Education, Miss Joyce combines deep musical knowledge with a gentle, encouraging style.

A long term accredited member of MTAC, Miss Joyce guides beginners, intermediate, and advanced students through steady, engaging lessons that foster technical mastery and artistic creativity. Her dedication ensures every student not only develops strong technique but also discovers the joy of making music an enriching and rewarding journey.
